NHL Plays will highlight the best and the most underrated daily fantasy options among forwards, defensemen and goaltenders.
Please note, these players were chosen early in the day, so make sure to check Rotoworld’s player news for any lineup changes, injuries and potential changes in the crease for starting goaltenders.
Additionally, it is worth reminding everyone that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 2W, 2D, 2UTIL, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL). Yahoo has a $200 cap for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 2G).

There are six games in the NHL on Sunday.
No one is hotter in the NHL right now than Mika Zibanejad who has 16 points in his last six games. He got off to a terrible start with only 11 points in his first 27 games but has turned it right on of late and has 27 points in 33 games. His value keeps rising and rising in DFS and rightly so.
Alex Ovechkin (Washington) – W – $8,700 (FanDuel), $8,800 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
Ovechkin also got off to a very slow start but has turned it on of late as only he can. The future Hall-of-Famer has 10 goals in his last 10 games, as well as a pair of assists to give him 17 goals and 29 points in 29 games. He has scored in six of his last seven games.
Pavel Buchnevich (New York Rangers) – W – $5,900 (FanDuel), $6,300 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)
As I wrote yesterday, playing with Mika Zibanejad has been gold this last week-and-a-half as Buchnevich has five goals and nine points in six games after being held pointless Saturday. Buchnevich has 31 points in 32 games in a breakout season and makes a nice DFS duo Sunday.
Bargain Bin: Ryan Strome (New York Rangers) – C – $5,900 (FanDuel), $6,100 (Draft Kings), $21 (Yahoo), Adam Henrique (Anaheim) – C – $5,000 (FanDuel), $5,500 (DraftKings), $16 (Yahoo) Carter Verhaeghe (Florida) – W – $5,100 (FanDuel) $5,500 (DraftKings), $18 (Yahoo), Rocco Grimaldi (Nashville) – W – $3,700 (FanDuel), $2,900 (Draft Kings), $11 (Yahoo)
Adam Fox (New York Rangers) – $5,400 (FanDuel), $6,000 (DraftKings), $22 (Yahoo)
Fox has been red-hot with a six-game points streak in which he has a goal and 11 assists. Fox had a five-assist night on Thursday against the Flyers and assisted on the lone Rangers goal Saturday. The slick defenseman has three goals and 27 points in 32 games as he continues to climb the points standings. Sixteen of his 27 points have come with the man-advantage.
Aaron Ekblad (Florida) – $5,500 (FanDuel), $6,300 (DraftKings), $21 (Yahoo)
Ekblad scored the overtime winner Saturday to snap a five-game pointless streak. He has 11 goals which ties him with Jeff Petry for top spot among defensemen this season. Ekblad has 21 points in 34 games including six goals and four assists on the power play. He is a nice value play in FanDuel and Yahoo.
Chris Driedger (Florida) – $7,700 (FanDuel), $7,300 (Draft Kings), $31 (Yahoo)
Driedger is putting up great stats this season as he is 8-4-2 with a 2.28 GAA and a .923 save percentage, better peripherals than regular number one goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. He is 1-1 against the Dallas Stars this season but has allowed only three goals on 50 shots. He is a good value play Sunday.
Other plays: Jaroslav Halak (Boston) – $7,800 (FanDuel), $8,200 (DraftKings), $34 (Yahoo)
